How to Enable Fast Charging on Samsung Phones

Written by Jihan Fauziah

Fast charging is a valuable feature as it significantly reduces the time needed to fully charge a mobile phone. I've found this feature particularly beneficial, so I want to share how to activate fast charging on Samsung mobile phones.

It's important to note that not all Samsung mobile phones are equipped with the fast charging feature. Some models only support chargers with a 10-watt output, while many newer Samsung phones typically support 18-watt fast charging.

Activating Fast Charging on Samsung Mobile Phones

Activating fast charging on your Samsung phone is a straightforward process. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Open the "Settings" menu on your Samsung mobile phone.
  • Select the "Battery and Device Care" option.

In addition to fast charging, the "Battery" menu also offers other useful features. These include a battery saver mode and options to prolong battery life.

What is Fast Charging?

Fast charging is a technology in Samsung mobile phones that enables the battery to be charged much faster than traditional methods. This efficiency is achieved through the use of specially designed adapters and USB cables that are compatible with fast charging technology.

This technology allows for a greater flow of power to the battery, significantly reducing the time it takes to charge it. For instance, I own a Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, which supports 25W fast charging. To fully charge its battery, it typically takes just over an hour.

It's important to note that the fast charging capability varies across different Samsung phone models. Generally, the higher the wattage (above 25W), the faster the charging time.

Take, for example, the Samsung Galaxy S24+, a model from their flagship series. It supports 45W fast charging, allowing the battery to be charged from 0-65% in approximately 30 minutes.

In summary, activating fast charging on Samsung mobile phones is a convenient feature that saves time and enhances the efficiency of the charging process.
