Written by Jihan Fauziah

Adventure games have been getting a lot of interest. These games allow us to start a virtual adventure without having to physically move.

In this article, the Carisinyal team presents a list of the best Android adventure games that can be enjoyed offline. These games come in various categories, including paid options, entirely free games, as well as free-to-play ones that offer in-app purchases.

These offline Android adventure games are just as thrilling as Android MMORPG games. That's because they offer not just exploration, but also present various missions and challenges for you to conquer. Some of these adventure games even require you to battle against enemies.

1. Final Fantasy IV (3D Remake)

Final Fantasy IV

The Android platform has many Final Fantasy games, but Carisinyal considers Final Fantasy IV to be the best. This game stands out for its captivating adventure with a strong and emotionally charged fantasy theme.

Square Enix has introduced the concept of ATB (Action Time Battle) for the first time, adding an element of excitement to the turn-based gameplay. In this installment, enemies will not wait for you to enter orders; instead, they will continue to attack based on their respective ATB bars.

An additional highlight is the inclusion of animated cutscenes with immersive voice acting, which improves the overall gaming experience.

2. EvoLand 2

At first, EvoLand 2 presents 2D RPG graphics reminiscent of classic role-playing games. As the game progresses, these graphics "evolve" into 3D, accompanied by fresh combat mechanics.

To prevent boredom, EvoLand 2 presents a variety of art styles that keep changing throughout the game. For a better gaming experience, don't forget to connect an external controller, as EvoLand 2 supports almost all Bluetooth gamepads. To purchase the game, visit the Play Store page.

In this game, you take on the role of Oddmar, a villager who is deemed unworthy of a place in Valhalla. As a result, he was excluded by the other villagers, and now he must prove himself and show that he is not as bad as others believe him to be. This gives Oddmar a chance to redeem himself.

Oddmar, a platformer game, will take players on a captivating journey through a beautifully designed forest environment. Along the way, you will encounter interesting puzzles that need to be solved. Can you conquer all the stages and improve Oddmar's reputation? Put your skills to the test by purchasing Oddmar from the Google Play Store.

My Little Universe_

Next on the list is My Little Universe. In this game, you take on the role of an orange character who is on a deserted island. Your goal on the island is to build and develop your own life.

Explore every corner of the island and build important buildings. Collect wood and use axes to get natural resources that can be used for various purposes. It's also important to upgrade your mining tools.

As you build your world, be prepared to encounter evil creatures that will try to harm you. Fight with the weapons at that you've got. A little tip from us, while building up, don't fall into the shark's nest in the open ocean, because they will eat you.

My Little Universe has an easy-to-use control system. You can simply move the on-screen joystick to change positions and tap the phone screen to perform actions. It should be noted that an internet connection is required to play this game, and occasionally ads may appear during game play.

Here is a handy tip: If you need resources without having to look for them yourself, you have the option to watch ads to get the needed resources for free.

6. Désiré

desire_

Désiré-a name as unique as the game itself-is a very simple yet exciting adventure game. It follows the journey of a young boy named Désiré, who must solve puzzles and fulfill missions throughout his life.

At first, you'll be transported to the year 1992, where you'll help Désiré solve puzzles for his first mission. Your goal is to collect wood, eggs, and tools, build a wooden box, and fill it with eggs. But before that, let Désiré write the name of the girl he loves with a pen.

The instructions for completing this mission can be found in the spell book that Désiré always carries in her backpack. You can access and read the book at any time.

What really captivated us while playing this game were the interesting puzzles and missions that Désiré encountered. In addition, the game offers a storyline that never gets boring. Plus, it comes with voice acting that makes everything feel more complete.

Visually, Désiré maintains a minimalist aesthetic. The game adopts a black-and-white presentation to reflect the character's representation of Désiré as a color-blind character. If you're interested in trying it out, you can download the game from the Google Play Store. Please note that the game is designed for players aged 16 years and above.

7. Eternium

eternium_

Eternium is an offline adventure game for Android that is also thrilling. The visuals and storyline bring out the memories of classic RPG games. You find yourself in a world that is under threat from an enemy led by Ragadam. The enemies you encounter are various, but at the beginning of the game, you'll be dealing with zombies.

During our playthrough, we chose the Bounty Hunter character, although Eternium offers a selection of other characters, such as the Mage. As soon as the game starts, you'll jump right into the battle against the zombies.

A tutorial guides you through attacking enemies, using special skills, and collecting items. We found no issues while playing, and the game ran smoothly on a mid-range phone. The controls are very straightforward, requiring only simple taps and swipes, making them easily accessible to players.

8. Phantom of Opera

phantom of opera_

MazM's Phantom of Opera is no ordinary adventure game, but a unique visual novel with elements of horror, puzzles and adventure all rolled into one.

The game consists of five chapters, and the first chapter is free to play. The Carisinyal team has personally completed several levels in this game. Each level has different characters and stories, but the whole narrative starts with the mysterious death of Joseph Buquet, a worker at the Opera House.

Your first task is to uncover the secrets surrounding Joseph's death. Rumor has it that he met "The Phantom," the Opera House's eternal resident. Unfortunately, anyone who meets The Phantom will suffer a tragic fate, or even death.

What we like about this game is the interactive play option. We can select dialog options, perform activities, and even face invisible enemies. Along our adventures and missions, we encountered challenging puzzles that required careful thought to solve.

At first, we were skeptical about this game, as many visual novels tend to lose interest quickly. However, Phantom of Opera proved to be an exception. The developer has only given the opportunity to try the first chapter of the game. If you're interested, feel free to download Phantom of Opera, and consider making a one-time purchase to unlock all the chapters.

9. Limbo

Are you tired of the usual offline games available on Android? Well, we have a recommendation for those of you who are not easily scared and love the horror genre.

Limbo is a 2D side-scrolling game that gives you a terrifying experience. With black and white graphics, Limbo creates a unique visual effect and immerses players in a gripping atmosphere.

In Limbo, you take on the role of a young boy who must make his way through dangerous obstacles, including menacing creatures and deadly traps that can result in instant death. The game also features disturbing elements such as beheaded heads and scary death animations.

Limbo presents interesting puzzles throughout the game, adding to the enjoyment similar to most platformer games. You can push obstacles, jump and run to find hidden paths to progress to the next area.

10. Botworld Adventure

Botworld Adventure _

Botworld Adventure offers an immersive open-world experience where you begin a thrilling adventure with the character you choose. Specifically, two of the available characters are cats. As you progress, your parents will assign you missions.

Along your adventure, you will have the support of bots created by your character's parents. These bots serve as valuable allies, helping you in battle against the enemies you encounter.

This game has charming characters, stunning visuals, and interesting missions. Like the games we've discussed before, the controls are intuitive and easy. Just by tapping the screen, you can move your character, whether it's walking or running.

Begin this exciting adventure, discover interesting objects, and defeat tough enemies along the way.

11. The Walking Dead

the walking dead

If you are a loyal fan of The Walking Dead movie series, then this game is definitely worth exploring. In the first season, you take on the role of Lee Everett, a criminal living in the midst of a zombie outbreak.

Accompanying you on this dangerous journey is a charming young girl named Clementine, who later becomes the main character in the second season of the game.

What's interesting is that you can enjoy both seasons of the game independently, without having to play them in order. Also, you can enjoy the first episode of each season for free, and if you want to continue to episodes 2 through 5, you have the option to make an in-app purchase. Are you interested?

12. Alto’s Adventure

alto's adventure

Unlike the other offline adventure games we have discussed, Alto's Adventure stands out as a refreshingly simple game. When you begin this adventure, you take on the role of Alto, a young protagonist.

Alto will lead you through the majestic snowy Alps, engaging in exhilarating snowboarding activities. It's crucial to maintain your balance and avoid falling, as otherwise you'll have to replay the level, sacrificing your hard-earned coins.

The simplicity of the game is also evident from the controls, which rely solely on the touch of a finger. Don't let that fool you, though, as you'll be mesmerized by the stunning 2D visuals and soothing background score. This game will bring you serenity.

13. Tricky Castle: Trap Adventure

tricky castle_

In this game, you take on the role of a valiant knight on a noble mission to rescue a kidnapped princess from the clutches of menacing monsters. However, escaping without injury won't be easy, as these villains have laid cunning traps in your path.

One of the traps that caught us off guard was the lockbox. We weren't supposed to open all the boxes. We just need to take the key that matches the color of the door and open it.

At times, we were convinced that we had succeeded, only to find more complicated puzzles waiting for us. We were running and sprinting on endless platformers to save the princess. Fortunately, the controls in this game are pretty easy; they're only directional buttons.

Although Tricky Castle: Trap Adventure may feature simple visuals, it's far from a shallow experience. The game is enriched with mesmerizing puzzles, requiring you to use your brains to conquer each level.

14. Botanicula

Botanicula

Botanicula is actually a sequel to Machinarium, and it has its own appeal as an exciting adventure game. In this game, the player is entrusted with the mission to safeguard the remaining tree seeds in the world of Botanicula. However, this task is far from easy, as many evil forces seek to hinder the player's progress.

Beyond the engaging storyline, players can enjoy visually stunning graphics. The game offers more than 150 meticulously crafted locations to explore across the vast world of Botanicula. Also, don't forget to look out for hidden bonuses that enhance the gaming experience!

15. Dreamdale

dreamdale_

Dreamdale game has obvious similarities to My Little Universe in terms of visuals and audio, and these similarities are no coincidence as both games were developed by the same creators. However, Dreamdale takes you on a different journey, depicting the story of a brave knight on a mission to rescue a kidnapped princess from a villain.

As the player, you have to build the entire city from the ground up, from building the city hall to the marketplace. Each development requires natural resources taken from the surrounding area.

You'll need to collect wood by cutting down trees or searching for treasure to earn extra coins. Once you're able to upgrade the town's facilities, you'll have the option to hire workers, thus easing the burden of your own labor.

Similar to My Little Universe, Dreamdale uses simple joystick controls, which allow you to move freely in any direction. Like many games, Dreamdale rewards you with special items, although you'll have to watch an ad before you get them.

That's a list of the best Android adventure games available, which can be enjoyed offline without an internet connection.
