10 Vivo Phones with the Most Durable Batteries in 2024

Written by Ahmad Tsalis

A smartphone's large-capacity battery is a key feature. The bigger the battery, the longer the phone can be used. But, battery life isn't just about size.

Many factors affect a phone's battery life. These include how well the software manages power and the use of energy-efficient components. Vivo, a well-known manufacturer, understands this very well.

Vivo has a range of smartphones renowned for their long-lasting batteries. But which Vivo models really stand out for their battery life? Here's a list of Vivo phones with the best battery life, based on GSMArena's tests.

1. vivo X100 Pro

Launched in China at the end of 2023, the Vivo X100 Pro is a flagship phone with exceptional battery life. It has a 5,400 mAh battery, slightly more than many competitors. This phone features a 100-watt fast charging capability, advertised to fully charge in 12 minutes. It also offers 50-watt wireless charging.

The Vivo X100 Pro's main selling point is its camera. It boasts a 50 MP main sensor and ZEISS collaboration for top-notch camera quality.

Its display features a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels. The LTPO technology can reduce the refresh rate to 1 Hz when not in use, saving battery without compromising the high 120 Hz screen performance.

Powered by the Dimensity 9300 chip built on 4 nm technology, it's energy-efficient yet delivers performance comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This chip is all about performance, with no efficiency core.

As for battery life, the Vivo X100 Pro scored an active use time of 13 hours 53 minutes in GSM Arena's test. This includes 25 hours 57 minutes of calls, 12 hours 25 minutes of web browsing, 17 hours 2 minutes of YouTube, and 8 hours 52 minutes of gaming.

The phone comes with a 120-watt charger, although it supports up to 100 watts. In tests, it took 31 minutes to fully charge, longer than the claimed 12 minutes.

2. vivo V29 Pro

The Vivo V29 Pro is equipped with a 4,600mAh battery and supports 80-watt fast charging. Despite its slightly smaller battery size, it has impressive durability.

GSM Arena reports that the Vivo V29 Pro has a total active use time of 12 hours and 7 minutes. This breaks down into 26 hours and 40 minutes for phone calls, 10 hours and 51 minutes for web browsing, 15 hours and 36 minutes for watching YouTube videos, and 7 hours and 7 minutes for gaming.

This phone's fast charging capacity reaches 80 watts, a step up from the Vivo V27 Pro's 66 watts. Released in Q4 2023, the Vivo V29 Pro can reportedly charge to 50% in just 18 minutes.

Even with its faster charging ability at the same battery capacity as its predecessor, the Vivo V29 Pro does not show a significant improvement in charging time. Like the Vivo V27 Pro, it takes about 30 minutes to reach around 70% battery, and approximately 50 minutes to fully charge.

3. vivo V27 5G

The Vivo V27 5G is an ideal choice for content creators, boasting impressive camera features. It includes a triple camera setup with a 50 MP main camera, PDAF, OIS, and a ring-LED flash or Aura Light. This phone can also record 4K videos at 30 fps, supported by gyro-EIS.

Being a content creator often means being active on social media. The Vivo V27 5G helps with this, offering a reliable battery life. Its capacity is 4,600 mAh, which is slightly below the standard but still robust enough for daily use. It also features fast charging up to 66W.

According to GSM Arena's testing, the Vivo V27 5G scored 134 hours in its endurance rating. This includes 33 hours and 23 minutes of calling, 19 hours and 8 minutes of web browsing, and 22 hours and 26 minutes of video playback. The phone can be fully charged in about 53 minutes.

Its battery life is more than enough for extended phone use. Additionally, the Vivo V27 5G has an AMOLED screen with up to a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone's performance is further enhanced by its Dimensity 7200 chipset, making it great for gaming as well.

4. vivo V21 5G

The Vivo V21 5G has a modest battery size of 4000 mAh, chosen to maintain the phone's slim design. Despite this, the battery performance is surprisingly good.

According to GSM Arena, the Vivo V21 5G scored an impressive 123 hours in endurance tests. These tests included various scenarios: the phone lasted for 32 hours and 13 minutes of calls and 16 hours and 21 minutes of web browsing.

When it came to watching movies, the Vivo V21 5G achieved 17 hours and 29 minutes of screen time. It's important to note that all these tests were done in 60 Hz mode. The phone's AMOLED screen, known for being more power-efficient than IPS displays, plays a big part in this endurance.

Additionally, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G SoC contributes to the efficiency with its modern 8 nm fabrication. The phone's robust battery life is further supported by 33W fast charging technology, allowing a completely drained battery to fully charge in 65 minutes, as per GSM Arena's findings.

5. vivo X70 Pro

The phone's long battery life can be attributed to the Dimensity 8200 chipset, which is built with a 4 nm process. This means the chipset is highly efficient, offering great performance without using a lot of power.

Also, charging the Vivo V27 Pro is quite fast. It features a 66W fast charging technology that can reportedly charge the phone from 0 to 72% in just 30 minutes.
