How to Use Good Lock Feature on Samsung Phone

Written by Jihan Fauziah

Are you feeling bored with your usual Samsung phone, or maybe you're interested in upgrading some of its functions? Try using Good Lock, which is a customized app created specifically for Samsung users.

Good Lock promises to enhance your mobile experience, but this app is only exclusively accessible through the Samsung Galaxy Store and is only compatible with select Samsung Galaxy series smartphones.

Now, I'd like to invite you to explore how to utilize Good Lock and take advantage of its exciting features. Let's explore the details of this discussion!

1.  Improve Your Screen Capture Ability with NiceShot

Within the Good Lock app, you will find tons of handy features, and among them is NiceShot. Different from the built-in features, NiceShot empowers you to perform various actions immediately after taking a screenshot, such as deleting it.

Interestingly enough, you can record your screen without unnecessary distractions. In NiceShot, you can simply utilize the Do Not Disturb (DND) feature. Interested in learning how to make the most of it? Dive into the following points.

  • Start by downloading and launching the Good Lock app on your device.
  • Within the Good Lock app, proceed to download the NiceShot feature, which will redirect you to the Galaxy Store.
  • Once on the download page, simply click "Install" and patiently wait for the installation process to complete.
  • Now, you can use the NiceShot feature through the Good Lock app.
  • Feel free to customize the various options in NiceShot to your specific needs. For example, I have personally added a "Delete Button" to quickly delete screenshots that do not meet my standards.
  • To take a screenshot as you would normally do, for example, capturing a lock screen display, observe how the delete button conveniently appears on the toolbar located at the bottom of the screen once the screenshot is successfully taken.

You will find this feature very handy, won't you? In my experience, NiceShot has proven to be an invaluable tool, making additional screenshot apps unnecessary.

2. Activate Multi-window with MultiStar

MultiStar is a feature designed to enhance your multitasking experience, which makes it extremely convenient. With MultiStar, you can run multiple apps simultaneously without interruption.

This means you no longer have to worry about your YouTube videos getting cut off while you browse or read articles on the web. Thanks to MultiStar, your app windows will remain minimized and uninterrupted as you continue to use them.

  • Start by installing the MultiStar feature inside the Good Lock app on your Samsung phone.
  • As with the NiceShot feature installation, you will be directed to the Galaxy Store for this process. Proceed in the same way.
  • Once the installation is complete, access the MultiStar feature within the Good Lock app.
  • Customize this feature to align with your specific preferences. For example, I prefer to enable the Multi-window Screen Zoom feature, which I activate by sliding the button to the right.
  • You will have two choices: Split-screen view and pop-up view. In my case, I chose the split-screen view.
  • In addition, I also experimented with enabling the "Remove blur effect when adjusting split view" feature. This eliminated the blurring effect that usually accompanies the use of split screen.

Now, let me illustrate the active MultiStar features with an example. The Multi-window Screen Zoom feature reduces the size of the screen display, allowing us to view the screen content in its entirety. Furthermore, during split-screen mode, the background on the screen remains clear and not blurry, unlike the usual experience.

This feature can also be relied upon to 'eliminate' the front camera module. The goal is to make you undisturbed when you are doing activities on your phone. For example, when watching or playing games. The screen will feel even more spacious. To 'hide' the front camera module, here's how:

  • Open the MultiStar feature in Good Lock.
  • Select the "The app stretch to camera hole" option.
  • Next, specify the app you want. For example, here I chose the Bed Wars game.
  • Tap on the app/game option.
  • Select "Hide camera cutout" to hide the camera module when the app or game is running.
  • Alternatively, you can select "Auto" mode if you want the camera module to disappear automatically.

Anyway, for this feature, feel free to customize it according to your own needs. You can feel free to apply any of the options.

3. Identify Unusual Phone Activity with NiceCatch

Do you often experience unexpected vibrations or sudden noises on your phone? You can automatically detect and pinpoint these events using the NiceCatch feature in Good Lock. Here's how to make the most of it:

  • Launch the Good Lock app and proceed to install the NiceCatch feature.
  • Once the feature is successfully installed, slide the button to the right to activate it.
  • Customize the feature by enabling certain options based on your needs. For example, you can select "Vibration history" to identify which apps are causing your phone to vibrate.
  • Or, you can enable the "Call mode history" feature to track which apps change your phone's mode settings.

Feel free to configure the options to your liking. And don't forget, NiceCatch offers other equally valuable features, such as ad detection and the ability to identify apps that trigger screen wake-up or automatic screen activation.

Unlike other Good Lock features, when NiceCatch is installed, it will display app shortcuts in your app drawer for easy access.

4. Customize Your Volume Control with Sound Assistant

For those who enjoy music and movie experiences, Good Lock features Sound Assistant. With this function, you can adjust your audio volume to an impressive range of 150 levels, along with an adjustable equalizer. Here's how to make the most of the Sound Assistant:

  • Start by launching Good Lock and downloading the Sound Assistant feature.
  • Once installed, give the app permission to access your microphone and nearby devices by selecting the "Continue" button.

  • Activate the customization feature by sliding the switch to the right.
  • Continue by selecting the "Custom" menu option.

This will bring up a new page that displays various options for customizing the appearance of the volume panel. For example, you can change the position of the volume panel, sliding it from right to left or vice versa.

There are many additional functions to explore in this feature, including voice changer capabilities. To make use of it, simply activate the feature located at the bottom of the Sound Assistant menu.

Slide the switch to the right to activate it, and then select the "Voice changer" option to access a wide selection of sound effects. Amazingly, these voice-changing effects can be applied in real-time

  • On the next page, adjust the color and position of the notification as desired. Drag the green bordered arrow upwards to your desired location. If desired, you can also select the color and transparency of the icon.
  • Once you have made the necessary adjustments, simply click the "Save" button to finalize your settings.

If you want to search for specific notifications, both old and new, by using keywords, follow these steps:

  • Open the NotiStar feature.
  • In the search field, enter a keyword or word that appears frequently in the notification you are looking for. Alternatively, you can search for notifications from specific people or even specific apps. For example, let's say you want to search for notifications from the Vocabulary app.
  • Simply type "Vocabulary" in the keyword search field. Then, all notifications that are still stored will immediately appear on the screen of your Samsung smartphone.

If you want to search for notifications from a specific individual, simply enter the contact's name.
